Nearly all of us will have heard the cliché/truism: a picture is worth a thousand words… A photograph can provide a visual record and evoke curiosity, but it’s also a moment frozen in time that can’t offer context and pose or answer questions for both before or after. Stories and books – written and spoken – can do that, and perhaps that’s part of their fascination and appeal; being able to explore the complexity of what sits behind the surface of a smiling or unsmiling face.
One of the privileges of being an educator is working with the sheer energy and possibility of young people and being inspired by the aliveness of their ever changing dynamic and flow. In that spirit, this newsletter we’re sharing some pictures of the river of activity that’s taken place in the library over the past few months!
