Special arrangements will be made concerning authorised school activities that require students attendance at the School outside these hours.

Office Hours

The office hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Office staff can only conduct office functions such as payments and EFTPOS before 3:30 pm.

Student Attendance

Late Arrivals

Students who arrive late must report to Student Reception at the Office with their student diary  Students should have a note from their parents explaining why they are late for School. The student’s Diary will be noted with a late arrival stamp, they will then proceed to class.

Early Departure

Junior Students

When wanting to sign out their child/ren early from school, parents are asked to please ensure the following steps are completed:

  1. Provide a signed written note (separate from the College diary) indicating the reason and time to be signed out.
  2. This note should be presented by the student to Student Reception at their earliest convenience upon their arrival to school.
  3. The parent / carer is to present to Parent Reception in the Administration building and inform the staff member they are there to pick up their child/ren (not calling from the car park area to request their child leave the school).
  4. The student can then be signed out.

Please allow enough time to park and walk up to Parent Reception to collect your child/ren.  Please also be mindful that this process is done in the best interest of our students, your child/ren, to ensure they get to where they need to go as safely as possible. Please be patient with our staff assisting at Parent Reception to ensure these processes are followed.

Senior Students

If a senior student is driving or walking home, or going to an appointment, they must have a written note from their parents or verbal communication from the parents/guardian.

Students are to bring in a signed parental note on the day of the early departure, notifying the reason for and time of departure. This note must be handed in at Student Reception before Period 1 and approved. The student will then sign out from the College office at the time stipulated on the note. If no note is received, the Office Attendant will contact a parent/guardian and confirm that they are aware of the student leaving.

A student who needs to depart early may not drive with another student.

A student may not depart the College before 3:15 pm without following these steps.

Absence from School & Extended Leave

If a student has to be absent from School, Parents/Guardians must tell the School and provide a reason for the child's absence, this can be completed in Compass in advance and by letter or email. Should a student be marked absent, the parent/carer will receive an SMS alert. They will need to respond with a return SMS (not a phone call), by 3:00 pm the same day. This will constitute the required 'note' and no further written explanation will be required.

The standard rules apply should a student be absent during an assessment or exam period, where parents and carers are required to obtain a doctor's certificate for the absence period. This means the doctor's certificate will have to cover not only the exam/assessment period, but the whole period of absence up until the student returns to the College.

Feeling Unwell

Students should seek immediate assistance from their class teacher or any teacher on duty. The teacher will write in the student's Diary to show at Student Reception, the student will then be admitted to sick bay upon arrival at Student Reception. A member of the office staff will then contact your parents.

Unable to Participate in Sport

A signed parental note outlining the request for being excused. This note is to be handed to the Sport/PE teacher.

Students are not allowed to use mobile phones, music players, earbuds or headphones at School. Students are not to use their mobile device, or have it on their person, during the College day. Mobile devices are to be locked in a student's allocated locker and not accessed or used at any point during the course of the College day until 3:15 pm. After 3:15 pm, students can access their devices to ensure communication with parents.

Security of Ownership

All articles of clothing, bags, books, stationery items, calculators and so on must be clearly marked with the current owner's name. Valuable school time should not be wasted looking for lost or otherwise 'missing' articles.

Students should not bring to School more money than is needed for the day and must accept responsibility for its use and whereabouts. If for some exceptional reason, a larger sum than usual is brought and needed for after School, it must be lodged (in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the student's name) at Student Reception for safe-keeping and claimed at the end of the day. Other monies to be paid should be deposited at the Student Reception before School.

Lost Property

The Lost Property bucket is located at Student Reception. Please clearly label all items that are brought or worn to School. Any items labelled will be returned to students.

School Diary/Planner

  • Every student must have a College diary.

  • The Diary is not to be used as a personal diary to record birthdays or personal messages or social activities.

  • The Diary is to be kept free of graffiti and in a clean and tidy state. No pictures or photos are allowed. Diaries deemed to be in an unacceptable condition will need to be replaced, at a cost of $15.

  • Diaries must be taken to each lesson.

  • Pages are not to be removed or folded.

  • Parents/Caregivers are to sign the Diary each week.

The Diary will be checked regularly by subject teachers and the homeroom teachers, and there may be intermittent inspections of the Diaries by either the Year Coordinators or the Leader of Student Welfare.

Messages, Visitors and Family Circumstances

Messages for Students

Parents/Caregivers are asked to promptly notify the School as early as possible and preferably before lunchtime 1:11 pm, as classes will not be interrupted to pass on routine messages. In case of emergencies, there will be exceptions to this rule; however, a paramount aim of the School is to safeguard the students' instruction time as much as possible.

Change of Address/Family Circumstances

Parents/Caregivers are asked to promptly notify the School, via email, of any change of address, phone number, email address or place of employment. When parents arrange for students to stay with relatives or friends while they themselves are away from home for a period of time, the Office must be informed in writing. We need particulars relating to the name, address and phone number of relatives/friends and the duration of the student's stay.

Similarly, any change in family status, such as a separation, must be notified to the School. This is not only for administrative purposes but also so the School can work for the pastoral welfare of the child(ren).

School Visitors

It is a legal requirement that all visitors to our school premises must sign in at the Front Office.

While this may sound daunting and unfriendly, particularly as we wish to encourage parents to come to the School and feel welcome, you must report to the Office first in order for us to comply with child protection legislation.
